Also, as it happens, I finished printing the middle section of the Electromagnet tonight.

I printed it out in two parts - the idea is that the finished version will also be in two parts, and the flaps will be single pieces that have the hinges attached. They'll get sandwiched between the top and bottom of the middle part and should be able to turn without issue. The only adjustment I have to make is to the hole in the center where the orb sits, which is just slightly too big and allows the orb a little bit of wiggle. Sizing it down should make the orb sit snugly in place and keep it steady on a shelf where it belongs.

But will you be doing cold cast metals for it? What size head will it fit? I would love to get in line for that!

I have no idea, to be honest. My head is just shy of 23.5 inches around and the helmet I've settled on, after my changes, fits me pretty much like a glove... which is to be expected, I guess, since I used a 3d scan of my head when sizing it. My girlfriend's head is 21.5" around and it fits her fine as well, although she would probably benefit from a bit of padding on the front and back for comfort's sake. Since I'd be casting the helmet in one piece, I'm not sure if cold casting it really makes sense, since I can't isolate the 'metallic' parts. I also don't know how feasible slush casting a helmet with aluminum would be like that. This whole thing's a learning experience for me! :)

Let me just be clear and say that while I appreciate the interest, I'm not taking any names down for helmets at this time. Let's get through a couple orbs so I have enough money to afford materials to actually do the helmet and then I'll put an interest thread up. (Also I need time to figure out the eye lighting setup. :D )

Good work looks good especially with the lighting function, what's the cool song in the video ? :D
