I had a good look for any other posts about this, so here it is:

Only $99, which is currently just over £60! BARGAIN!

It seems to be the same pistol as in the Grordbort logo, and it's not metal, it's plastic, and it's not a 'limited edition', more details here:

(they've also added a miniature Unnatural Selector, which IS limited, get 'em while ther hot!)

This thing is HUGE! 15 inches long! :cry

Careful tho, this guy seems to have stolen Deckard's coat.

I saw this myself this morning, although going by the price for the other rayguns, and the fact this is pre=order, i fear that the $99 NZD is a deposit for pre-ordering.

Looks tremendous though!!!

Nope, I checked: it's a $99USD/£60GBP plastic raygun, shipping sept/oct: in fact, at the SDCC they're knocking it down to $90USD for pre-order!

:)

Fantastic, i am really surprised that this incredible Raygun is so cheap in comparison to the others!!!

Meh, don't like it as much as the first ones. Can't stand the handguard, and really dislike the photo with the dude. Why am I so negative right now? Sorry dudes.

I saw this a couple of days ago and couldn't believe my eyes either when I saw the price. Glad to see that Weta is opening their Raygun line to a wider audience. I'm curious though to see the final product cause for $99 it definitely won't look as nice as pictured...
That guy/dude... is Richard Taylor, isn't it?
Yes, it's Richard Taylor.

Descriptions on the web site mean this is PLASTIC (or polystone, not sure which)
The original line of four designs were virtually solid METAL, and also had a special metal and fabric inlaid presentation case. Plus, they were very limited in the run- in the 100's, so each one was fairly expensive to make, numberede and autographed, hence the hefty price tag!
I have the Manmelter ;-)

Now WETA have made them more commercial, so the materials are cheaper, and I dont think they are limited edition, hence the price difference. There is also no mention of a special case.
If people have seen this in person at SDCC, did you see how it was presented stand and case wise?

Ordered mine ;-)

If you look at the pictures it seems to be a hole of some sort in the handle. Maybe for a stand?

Looks pretty sweet. A big blastin' raygun priced for the masses, what's not to like?

Holy shnikes! Now that is a ray gun worthy of Flash Gordon himself! :love

I'm very tempted... if they're still available after I get my sonic screwdrivers that I should be receiving in October, maybe I might have to buy myself one of these as my Xmas gift to myself. :cool
