Great movies you wish you could "edit"

Gladiator would not be the same movie without Commodus. Joaquin Phoenix did such an amazing job, he is too creepy. I love this movie so it is painful to watch him.
LOTR's is the same. Gollum/Smegal is brilliant, but I would like to watch the movies without him.
I know this is silly. I want a Road Warrior where they all live. I wish there was a way to edit out the parts of movies that I don't "want" to watch. Am I the only one?

I think theres plenty of parts in the Star Wars movies that could be done without. At least in the Special Editions or Prequels.

I love Rogue One as is, but I feel like there is a great movie hidden under a lot of not great decisions, so an edit would be fun.

Also feel like Covenant could be overhauled as well to be a better overall film.
