Graflex Question

I have noticed on some of the graflex have screws in the end by the top end.. Is this a variation or did some one add it later?

You could easily add a bit of black foam, paper or something there, and thus not affect it so drastically like a screw.

maybe it is one of the long lost stunt sabers and those screws held the plastic tube in place
