Gordon Kaye dead: Actor famous for René in 'Allo 'Allo dies aged 75

How did I miss this? RIP Rene, may he forever have a few of the vase with the big daisies.
 
Back in the 90s this and Are You Being Served were nightly shows on the local PBS. It took them forever to get the last season of it though. Odd note: In the original Pirates of the Caribbean Lt Grubber is the first person Jack interacts with after his ship sinks in the port.
 
Very sad indeed, I loved allo allo and the reunion episode still had the same charm. I hope to meet him up there one day when I'm pissing by....:cry

Most Americans don't know what they missed with this one. I remember loving it as a kid. Truly great comedy. I still think they way they handled languages using accents was absolutely genius.

Yes, they did a phenomenal job with the accents. It made even more funnier.

It's been years since i've seen the show so i'll be looking for the dvdbox.
