Anyone know if the has been confirmed?
While I agree that most social media posts with AI posters, and other discussions on the subject are usually fake, the fact that it made it into the newspaper that makes we question if it could be true.I doubt this is really true. Every fall leading up to Halloween we get buzz of the possibilities of a Goonies sequel, along with Freddy, Jason, Michael and Chucky...lol. If they were ging to actually do it they would have piggybacked off the success of Stranger Things and just used that cast for a reboot(Not saying i want a reboot or a sequel because they should just leave well enough alone).
Wasn't it in the SUN though? While I agree that most social media posts with AI posters, and other discussions on the subject are usually fake, the fact that it made it into the newspaper that makes we question if it could be true.
I just hope that they do the right thing and make a sequel that targets “modern audiences”.
Feldman shut down speculation on X, telling fans he knows '100%' that a sequel is not in the works, as he took the opportunity to plug his new film, The Birthday.
He wrote: 'IS #GOONIES2 REAL?! EVERY1 IS ASKING...I CAN OFFICIALLY TELL U 100% NO! I HAV NO INFO THAT A SEQUEL IS IN THE WORX, BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS I HAV A SURPRISE EXCLUSIVE TEASER TRAILER 4 U, 2 MY FAV WORK WHICH IS FINALLY COMING 2 THEATERS VERY SOON.....'
Hey bud, can we atleast meet in the middle on this one? (just having fun...even though you're not a Goonie)I recently watched the original and man what an annoying film...constant screaming and yelling and interrupting the entire film. Not sure how this ever became a classic. I guess kids would like it but as an adult, id rather listen to nails on a chalkboard.
100% agree. I may have said this in a different thread but i was 9yrs old and that cast almost perfectly resembled my group of friends and it was like watching our lives on the screen. I can't imagine how many other kids felt that way too. In fact, we called ourselves the Goonies right after watching it and we continued to go out exploring, making believe we were on a quest, digging for fossils etc. and we'd be gone the whole day. Many of us on here can relate to growing up being latchkey kids, which i was too. Although certain aspects of our upbringing may induce bad memories,(I can only speak for myself), this part of our childhood forced us to grow up a lot quicker in ways, and want to escape the bad stuff but we never wanted to escape from each other or our "click"...but i wouldn't trade that part of my life for anything, which is probably why The Goonies will always be endearing to me. Stranger Things has been the only thing since that captivated me right away and brought me back home to the "Goondocks" sort of speak. When the original film came out in 1985 I was 15 years old and the film didn't really relate with me, but I don't deny that it is a fine film. Personally, I thought the way that the kids all talked over each other was one of the best depictions of actual 'kid conversation' ever put to film. Because that is the way kids actually talk! Almost all films with kids in them, the dialogue is so obviously written by an adult, that they never seem believable to me.

AgreeAs a father of two boys, I can tell you that very few movies accurately capture how kids talk to each other. Donner nailed it with Goonies, so much so that you can replay some scenes and hear other side conversations going on! I have no idea how they scripted that, but it blows me away.
So the kids' banter is actually more interesting to me than the overall plot!
