Goonies Copper Bones Factory Ent. & Paragon FX Comparison

Paragon is bigger than Factory. The details are completely different. If someone could do comparisons with what we have of the prop that’d be swell.

It’s so strange. Paragon didn’t weather the back. It’s glossy black with green patina. That’s all. No brown or flat wash. The front also has a few spots that wore off in shipping or didn’t get painted. I’m going with the latter because of the black spot over the eye being black and recessed. It couldn’t have rubbed in the box.

Also wanted to make note I got mine from Sideshow. The key and coin were dislodge from the holders and floating in the box. Map got slightly ripped.

The map is disappointing. It’s just thick stock paper. Would have liked something better for the price but I guess I wasn’t in it for the map lol

Thanks for the comparison. Wow that is a huge difference. What are the dimensions of the Paragon?

I have the RelicMaker and Toynk Toys keys. The RelicMaker key feels a bit too big.

That's a huge size difference. I think the original prop is about 7 inches long. Regardless of sculpt detail, I wonder which replica is closer to accurate size.

The Paragon Key is 7" on the nose (y)
Hey, Rylo. What's the background on this set? What production models and process were used in making them? The Copper Bones appears to be a new unique sculpt. I like it a lot. I also appreciate no copyright details on any of them. I thought for sure there'd be something on the map but to my delight nothing.

Thank you for your comments. A number of your questions are actually answered in the official product description.

BUT, We'll be putting up an official thread next week for the film's anniversary so maybe we can take a slightly deeper dive
and hit a couple things with a finer point.

Thanks again,

Rylo

NOTE: As soon as we can catch our breath we plan to get some video up discussing what goes into landing a set like this, product development, studio approval, etc.

It'd be great if we could just have a photo of the screen used prop. At the end of the day the Factory key is an original 3D sculpted model, which looks far different than several other fan made ones, and not a lineage piece.

Well, maybe we can reach out to him. He listed his email address publicly.

I just got a new key, this time from GJP Designs on Etsy. This one is cold cast resin. I also considered the Dark Matter Props one, but a couple of details looked more accurate to me on this one.

Toynk Toys on the left, GJP Designs in the middle, Relicmaker on the right.

The Relicmaker just feels really oversized to me. I filled in and weathered much of the inaccurate text on the back to try and hide it.
