Google adds 'Bacon Number' easter egg to its search engine -- Engadget

Everybody loved playing "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" right? Well, Google recently added their own little calculator, which has resulted in me wasting a ton of time at work.

Just go to Google, type in "bacon number" followed by your thespian of choice.

Even though oracleofbacon.org has been around forever, I thought this was still a neat Google addition. Also, Google's "bacon number" calculator seems to be far more precise. I've actually had a bit of a hard time finding anyone with a "bacon number" higher than three.

My drama teacher in high school was an extra in Blade Runner (she was the lady in the back of the cab), that give me a Bacon number of 4.

Hmm, I am bacon free.

Ok, I had to go extreme to find a real actor who is higher than 3. I give you silent movie actor Max Linder with a Bacon number of 4.

Really? Almost everyone I searched is a 2.

edit: just realized what you meant. Yes, harder to find folks who aren't close than the other way around. ;)

Since I got to see Kevin Bacon in concert, mine is 1.

BUT, I am also a 3 since I was an extra with Halle Berry on "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge"

Doesn't that mean you're closer than I am though?

No, no. Not for me, just every actor I've tried, I cannot get better than 2.

I did try Chris Evans. And he did not appear to have a Bacon Number. Someone else should try it. He does not show up. Maybe just too common of a name.

Man, even Michael Jackson,..... THE KING OF POP.... IS A TWO!!!! ARGHH!!!!

EDIT: Alright, this game cheats. The way it is set up, it takes actors who even have footage in other movies. For example, I tried to find a way to get from Bacon to Shirley Temple or Charlie Chaplin.

Would you believe each of their Bacon Numbers are 2. AGAIN!!!! LIKE EVERYONE. Their bacon numbers are 2 because a documentary was made in......2011!!! that showed original footage of those two actors. And because of that, considers it the same as if Charlie Chaplin and Shirley Temple starred or acted in the movie itself. So Charlie Chaplin and Michael Sheen were IN THE SAME MOVIE called Shooting the Stars. And Michael Sheen and Kevin Bacon were in Frost/Nixon.
And now Comedy Central stand up specials count??? I give up.

I call shenanigans.

Dianne Wiest is a 1.

Just pick someone who was in a movie with him. They should all be 1.

No OB, I am trying to go the opposite way. I want to see like 1052 Bacon Number. Or just something a little more absurd.

Dianne Wiest. :lol

I would still love to know Charlie Chaplin's REAL Bacon number. Hopefully Google fixes the algorithm.

Orange_Blend, finding people with a higher "bacon number" is much more challenging than finding someone with a one or a two. That's what myself and most people are really hunting for.

Misunderstood... Have at it then! Problem is that he's a 2 to people like Lucas & Spielberg. That alone makes almost everyone in Hollywood a 3.

???? I've never included directors when playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, only people that actually acted along side of him in the films.
