You really missed the point of my comment, but whatever.
I got it, although I don't recall these 10 second spots that you mentioned and I avidly watched SyFy before Eureka aired. You sure you're not confusing these spots with the deoderant commercials they ran a few seasons back when they were doing a lot of product placements in all of the episodes that season?
Regardless, the show only ran for 5 seasons which is pretty much par for course for a SyFy scripted show. However, this time around SyFy is excused for cancelling Eureka even though they promised us and Eureka a 6th season, it turns out that SyFy really wanted to do 6 episode season 6 but that was nixed by their parent company, Comcast. Which makes me wonder, how much of SyFy's 5 season plan has been the result of their corporate parents, NBC/Universal at first and now Comcast. Could it be that SyFy is actually honest when it promises shows just one more season but pull the rug out from underneath them because their corporate parent says no?
