Good lightsaber deal?

Hey Guys,

I'm not exactly new to the prop world but my knowledge about the Star Wars stuff isn't exactly expert so I'll ask here...

I want to start an original series lightsaber collection which would of course include:

- Luke's ANH
- Luke ESB
- Luke ROTJ
- Vader ANH
- Vader ESB
- Vader ROTJ
- Obi-Wan ANH

I'm only interested in the hilts, no blades or electronics required. I already have the MR Anakin & Vader sabers in a display.

So here's my question... How good a deal is this?

3-Pack Graflex, MPP, MKIII - Graflex Sabers Online Store

Seems to me like a perfect starter pack for the collection covering Obi-Wan ANH, Luke ANH, and Vader ESB (I think). The Obi-Wan would require a lot of work to make it look right but I think I could handle it pretty easily.

If anyone here has dealt with them I have a few questions for you...

How accurate are they?
Are they a reliable seller?
As a collector would I be happy with the quality?
Are there better deals to be had?

I don't have a tonne of cash at the moment but if these guys are no good then I'll look for higher end stuff on a more long term hunt.

I don't have any info on the seller.

The Graflex and MPP are going to be dead-matches to originals. The MPP is actually most accurate to the ANH with it's larger port plug opening, but would easily work for ESB and ROTJ.

Obi is only passible as accurate to screen used. You could keep the grenade and clamp and sell everything else on eBay and use the cash for more accurate parts bought here on the RPF.

I agree with James above.

Graflex and MPP are dead on correct...
Get 2 sets and sell the other Obi and get the parts you need.
That would give you both Graflex Lukes and both Vaders.

Then all you need are Luke and Vader Jedi.

You can get the replacement parts from RussRep

On the Obi...I love the grenade and clamp (best replica clamp out there). You can either use or replace the gear... and I do reccomend replacing the handwheel and emitter.

Last I checked it was taboo to discuss or promote Parks Sabers in open forum.
But yes, he makes one hell of a saber, as I have a few. (y)thumbsup

do they make any with removable blades out there? I know there are some with permanent blades.

I did a little searching about the whole Parks taboo... (as I said, I'm new to the sabers)

Can someone summarize what the original problem was? From what I read it had something to do with a members original graflex being damaged but I couldn't find all the details.

There seems to be two camps, one that thinks Parks is great and the other that thinks he's evil...

He didn't deliver to a LOT of people on a UBER saber kit that had all the OT goodies in one package.

And I think it was an MPP that was loaned to him by one of our members. It didn't come back for a long time and when it did it was damaged if I recall correctly.

I've bought other products indirectly from the same maker and feel these are quite ok for being a mass produced saber. Price=the expected quality, which is good. I'm actually going to purchase the 3 pack and hope to on sell the replica graflex, as I have a number of real ones, for display and lighting.
