I seem to have initiated some confusion, and I'll do my best to try and clear it up. In the making thread, there was some discussion about the "correct" thickness of the Snitch. I was using .010 brass because it was what I had on hand. It was suggested that the correct thickness would be .015 thick brass. I thought I'd make either option available in an attempt to offer a slightly cheaper version. Unfortunately after doing the math, it really didn't end up being that much different in cost over the long run, which is demonstrated in the price difference. $5 or $10 is not "make or break" money. I should just ditch the .010 and offer the thicker version as the only option, as it is the correct thickness.
I will be making another set of wings tonight. The current artwork is better, but still not correct. I'm making the set so I can show proof of concept on the bending of the wings into the correct form smothly and cleanly.
My supplier has informed me that they only have .012 inch stainless as an option. I will look elsewhere to see if I might be able to get it a bit thicker, but for now, I've edited the OPost to show for this change.
Kabeiroi - I will absolutely find a way to get these to you. What part of the world are you in?
TomVDJ - The tin coated steel has a has the same look as an American quarter or dime - it's a shiny silver color. I'm not sure on the stainless just yet. I ordered some today and will have a better answer for you when it comes in on Friday. I'll take some pictures of them side by side. As for full complete Snitches - I'll be doing some foundry hunting in the next few weeks. I'll post something on this, or the other thread when I have something set in place.
ecl - The .014 is considered to be correct. The person who started the making thread figured out what the correct thickness should be in AutoCAD. Since .014 isn't a standard size and .015 is, that's that I'm going with.
