Going into the custom eye business

Hi all,

I am starting up a new venture making fake eyes for waxworks ect. and thought it would be cool to see what type of custom eyes you guys would like to see.

Have you ever been stuck before when you are creating a creature or painting one of the many sci fi/horror busts available but have had to settle of cheap/painted eyes as there were no professional ones?

I know in the past there has been a run on sith eyes and i remember when there were pages on threads discussing what best to use for yoda eyes.

I can make any size eye up to about 60mm with any size pupil and iris in any colour, these are not glass blanks that you paint from the inside, these are proper manufactured eyes.

So what styles of eyes have you needed but could never find?

cheers phil, im very happy with my eyes now. Its been alot of research and experimenting and Im confident my eyes are just as good as those currently available, I just dont have the same overheads so my prices with be cheaper!

heres a couple of pics of prototypes, the pics arnt great as they are off my phone .

this one is based on the wolf predator, its just a quick paint job so i didnt use my airbrush but i was just experimenting with colours

heres just a normal blue eye

does anyone here know the size of yoda's eyes and iris?

How big is a human eye? Is 60mm much larger? How far back does the sphere go? Would it be possible to do ones with clear pupils?

Human eyes tend to be 26-28mm, so a 60mm eye would be over twice the size. I'm interested in what sizes will be available too - may need something 60-70mm for my Mars Attacks martian bust.

Doug, i can do clear pupils but why would you want them? you cant really see through the eyes as they are solid.

mars attacks eyes would be a fun project
