Godzilla v. Gigan diorama - lots of pics

Got this diorama off evilbay. It was already built but unfortunately the UPS guys around my neighborhood are the absolute worst. Everything that I get that is made of resin always comes broken!! :cry :cry:angry:angry:angry:angry

Either way, I wanted to just show everyone and share pics even though I didn't build it- because I thought it was a nice change of pace from all the starships floating around..

Below are the pics - of how the completed model came in a billion pieces and after several hours with superglue and touchup paint I was able to get it all back together. So technically, I built the model all over again.. but the original paint job was great - so it obviously spared me a lot of time. Enjoy!

If anyone knows who completed this diorama - feel free to chime in. The kits are Ts-Facto's .... and the buildings are...custom.

Awesome restoration job!

I think if I had opened that box and seen all those pieces, I would have just looked like this for a few weeks: :cry

You already know what I think of this Thomas - simply jaw dropping!

You have the patience of a saint putting it back together the way you did. That's a work of art in and of itself! :)

The sorting process at UPS is brutal. Trust me, I work there. :lol

That is astounding diorama. You did a great job of putting the bits back together. I've never seen Gigan looking so... mean either. Is that a sculpt based on one of the newer films, or do you know?

Amazingly amazing! I'd give your right arm for this kit!

AWESOME job. but if I opened that box and saw everything in pieces you can be damn sure the local UPS guy would have Godzillas tail jammed straight up his exhaust port. Please tell me you called them and raised hell. From the way it sounds you have been through this before with this UPS guy.

That's some beautiful work considering the state it was in when you got it. Just curious to knwo how the shipper packed it. I'm sssuming there was some effort to protect the pieces with some kind of foam padding?

Wow, blast from the past! The diorama is still around proudly displayed. Glad to see the design of the diorama holds up to the test of time (5 years in the prop world is like fooorrrever). Gotta be honest I had completely forgotten how many pieces this thing was broken into. Every single spine snapped off....*shudder*
Man I had a lot of patience before I had kids :p

Thanks for the nice comments guys.
