Gloves, small accessories?

I'm hoping to shoot some photos of various Star Wars foods in the coming months (I create real recipes for fictional dishes for a pseudo-living), and I as I looked around my props yesterday, I realized I have next to no sci-fi worthy props or backgrounds. Womp womp.

I'm planning to make some very basic bulkhead type backgrounds, but as I'm imagining some photos of troopers holding plates/trays, etc, I'd love to make some of the more human elements, like stormtrooper gloves, or small costume bits that just gives the photo that SW feel. I don't think any of it has to be screen perfect, or even exactly from one character or another, but rather just aesthetically right. I'm pretty crafty, and have basic tools like a dremel, saws, etc. I've got a Gonk in progress, and hope to level up to more complex props in the future, like sabers, but am (for a change) sensibly starting more simple.

I'm also going to look up the nearest 501st folks, but in the meantime, any tips or clever notions would be much appreciated!

Snow Troopers used regular off white gardening gloves with a plate sewn to the back.
Rebel Pilot gloves are black leather (3 stripes down the back) with a cuff added (originals used vinyl)
Snow Speeder Pilots and Hoth Troopers used 2 tone suede welders gloves. (some where finished leather with the suede cuff)
Scout Troopers used modified motorcycle gloves.

If you're interested in some of the newer movies than you should take a look at threads on those characters.

Do you have a link to your food site? :D

Great, thanks for the glove breakdown! I'm hoping to make a small range of them, both rebel and empire. And I'm definitely weighted in favor of the originals. ;) Just finished the first layer of primer on a really quick DL-44, so that can go in the running, as well eventually.

Somewhat amusingly, some of the best reference shots I've been pulling for basic props are from the EA Battlefront game. Great details scattered throughout the various levels, whether it's cargo crates or random tools scattered in a corner somewhere. Headed to the hardware store in a bit before we get more snow. Fingers crossed! Will post some photos and updates as I build stuff out...

This is sort of what I was describing badly- the little details that have become iconic parts of the SW universe, whether it's the Corellian bloodstripes on Han's trousers or Leia's monstrously expensive silver necklace. I'd like to evoke the feel of the SW worlds without having to actually build entire sets or sew entire outfits...
