Title says it all, or at least most of it!

I have a screen used sentinel pincer claw (hard foam) as seen in the Matrix that I would like to offer someone in the community.

It comes with a small display stand.

The last one of these I saw sell, went for more than $500.

For a chance to win this piece, simply tell me the story of how you found the RPF. That is it. Could be as short as "Google" or as long as the story needs to be. On Monday, Jan 27th, I will pick a winner and ship this piece to them for free.

Geez I think I was a freshman in high school and wanted a lightsaber. After my dad and I went to Lowe's and made a really really really bad hardware saber I found Larbel. And from there I found therpf. And here coming up on 20 years later I am just as passionate about props!

I had a boring job so I spent my time searching the internet all day. Somehow I landed on therpf looking into Star Wars prop and I've been here ever since.

I was doing research on Firefly and X-Men movie props and costumes, which brought me here through a search. I think I was on ASAP forum before that and wasn't finding what I needed, but registration wasn't open here at the time so I had to wait before I could get into the discussion. After that, it was down the rabbit hole for me...

I was browsing google looking for some articles about Stranger Things props and I stumbled upon the RPF, and I've been here since.

Are you picking randomly, or picking best?
Because if "best", I have no chance - Because I have no idea! It was waaay back when, when it was on some other server/forum host.
I must have stumbled across it whilst looking for reference pics for either a pulse rifle or Fett lid...

I think I first stumbled over the RPF (a few style changes ago) when I was Google image searching for something . That was so long ago I can’t remember what I was looking for. I lurked for a fair few years, and ultimately created an account when I wanted to buy a Cryocan from the Junkyard.

I just stumbled across it today. Saw a link to some Good Omens props, and here I am. I've been incredibly interested in prop making for about 10 years, and I am very glad I found this site. It is a godsend.

I have been aware of it for years and had lurked occasionally from time to time. Recently, it came up as I was listening through through the back catalogue of the Still Untitled podcast. I’m hoping to start some new projects soon and it seemed like time to actually register.

I was watching a YouTube video of a guy calling himself "Stealth" build an Iron Man suit from foam. Was completely blown away by the entire process, and I believe he mentioned The RPF. Did a quick search, and found my true home.

Back in the heyday of Iron Man costumes I followed a link to JF Customs thread on foam files. Then I discovered that I had been wasting my free time with relaxing and watching movies. I could have been using that time building into the wee hours of the morning and stressing about costume deadlines!!!

I would say my first encounter with the RPF was from a tip from a friend when I wanted to look up how to put together my own outfits for cosplay. This place has definitely helped me with my cosplays for comic cons, and I've also found it a great place to look at and marvel at the creativity of people as they make their cosplays.

I first discovered the rpf from google, looking for references for the Harry potter acceptance letter to make one for my girlfriend for Christmas. Then a few month later, I was discussing some star wars things and a good friend from work (that is registered here too) told me to check out this place as it was the go to place. I checked it and discovered it was the very website I was browsing a few month before. I joined that day and never spent a day not coming since then!

I really can't recall... I though maybe I heard Adam Savage talk about it on Tested.com but I've been on here longer than he's been affiliated with them.

I kept running across the RPF while on the Starship Modeler- I finally got curious enough to check this site out in person and was amazed about the wealth of knowledge. Most forums do have well informed people who have studied subjects for years, here we have people who have actually worked on those subjects professionally.
The discussions also seem to avoid most of the pitfalls on an online discussion- things do get a bit heated occasionally but everyone is typically courteous.

First off wow, what an amazing gesture! How much space does that thing take up!

How did I find the RPF... man that's hard to think back to. I know I lurked for a few years before joining in 2002. I know I first joined around the time I got super into Lord of the Rings stuff and wanted to make Sauron fingers. But I initially probably found it while doing graflex research back in the late 90s for making a Luke saber that my dad wanted to make by hand from steel tubing.

Google - around 2014 or so I was desperately looking for tutorials on how to make a winter solider arm. Best resource was the RPF. found soo much more . Thanks for this!!
