Does anyone know how I can start off making this costume?
Like what kind of pattern or what not to use to create her dress?
I want to make the dress she wears in her animated form:

You might want to start with a Regency silhouette then alter the pattern for the strapless look. A lot of times "special occasion" patterns...like wedding dresses or prom dresses...have that high Empire wasitline. That seems to be what most Giselle costumers are going with.

What ever you do, don't use satin. I know it may seem sort of obvious but trust me-- I've seen enough dresses-that-didn't-need-to-be-satin made out of satin to last a life time and a half. Just remember that shiny doesn't always mean fancy!

vouge has a lot of easily-modifiable empire waist patterns :] I would look there first

Love this movie as well. The Central PArk sing-a-long is now required viewing in our theatre program.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with (what, no wedding dress? )
