Giant Style Venom speed build for halloween.

It's this kind of wildly unrealistic character design that when translated into costume really gets me going.

6 more coats of latex on today and its getting thick. tomorrow im gonna cut the sucker off the doll and start fitting and adjustments. :) bought a big ass zipper today, gonna sew it in with fishing line, finished the lower teeth and started the uppers, all thats left is airbrush/details, install the teeth, figure out the tongue, a zipper and then donee :D i cant wait to scare the crap out of people.

as far as going out goes I'm sticking to Victoria this year as a ton of my friends are being hero's villians + i made my best friend a sweet dr. doom costume (ill post that later) No idea where in vic we're all headed yet but we will be hard to miss :D

p.s thanks for all the compliments :D

How much latex did that take you? I'm looking to do something similar, but it'll be my first experience with latex, so I've got absolutely no idea how much I need. Thanks!

I spend the coin (220) on 5 gallon pails. maybe use 1.5 to 2 gallons for a full suit

Looking fantastic so far. Can't wait to see complete! Just a heads up- I made a Darkness from "Legend" suit several years ago, basically the same way you did this. It didn't have near as thick of foam on it and it was HOT AS HELL! Like wearing a heavy insulated wetsuit. I left a small opening in the back near the neck that I had friends occasionally pour in cold water to cool off. Maybe you have a more sophisticated cooling system in mind, but just thought I'd let you know.

Fantastic suit! I love Venom and the way you're making it is really cool. Hopefully it will be cold outside and this will keep you warm without over heating! Can't wait to see it finished.

holy crap today was huge:eek
took it off the doll(very difficult but no tears)
installed(sewing with fishing line/gluegun) a 30 inch zipper up the back
patched under the arms and crotch
installed the lower teeth (yes i want that glue there)
made a huge amount of fitting adjustments to the entire thing.
Fits like a dream now I am Super pumped on how its turning out:love

+ I built (craft foam+hot glue) and base painted all the armor in a dr doom costume for my bestie all in the same day!
and i worked the day job till 3. BOOM HEADSHOT.

Tomorrow I will install the upper teeth (which will have hopefully dried) and paint on the eyes. + finish the boots
thursday its stuff the thing and finish the paint job time for wear and scare!

on a sad note i think im leaving the tongue alone. i cant find a way to make it retract as i had hoped and im not a fan of the static tongue out look. i feel it really takes away from it and makes him look like his mouth is constantly full and stuck open.
