A lot of people have mentioned this to me over the last few years, and I really want to get something together that'll make people happy, and give their awesome props a great home.

I'm hoping to offer these as kits, a one-stop shop to grab everything you'd need to build a light up display stand. It'll include custom routed pieces of wood (like my Han in Carbonite box kit) LED strip tape that'll glow at the push of a button, and a clear backing to diffuse the light, probably frosted acrylic or something similar.

Here's my rough draft prototype, first look:

These will light up!

What I'm offering now for preorders is this round version. There'll be more details, and likely a third inner row of circles to better mimic the freezing chamber. I'll update with more finished photos shortly.

Okay. I've figured out my pricing and would love to get started producing these, as long as we get enough orders together.

It'll be an easy-to-assemble kit containing:

two CNC cut 1/2" thick mdf top panels cut with chamber floor pattern
two CNC cut 1/2" thick mdf blank bottom panels
four laser cut 1/8" thick hardboard panels cut with stair step pattern
a generous 30 foot length of remote controllable color changing led strip tape
ac adapter for leds
white opaque light diffuser film to back openings
The top panels will have pre-drilled holes on theback rectangular section that line up with spots on the bottom of the HiC to allow for easy mounting. Using these mounting holes, it'll be able to support a free-standing HiC if you plan on bringing it to a convention.

USA shipping from baltimore in a 48"x24"x4" box.

The US price is $265 including shipping.

For orders outside of the country, I'll have to figure out the shipping, but just like the HiC box kits, I can have these made in the EU, Canada, and Australia so it might not end up being that bad. likely we'll make the CNC parts near you, and then ship the other parts from baltimore.

I'm opening this up to a batch of ten orders, and if this half-fills we'll start production on that batch, and start a new one if needed. I'd like to get started producing, but will be away for three weeks, Aug 25-Sept 16ish. I don't think I'll be able to get these shipped before then, so we're looking at a late September delivery.

Great!

I have your other kit, Han box, in my storage... if I ever have a place again to put together Han, I'm ALL OVER THIS.

Cuz I was going to beg a friend of mine, and I could tell he wasn't really into doing it.

I plan on buying your box soon and would definitely be interested in one of these. The lady and I have talked and we will be starting a full size HIC build in a few months. On a related note, any idea who sells the best (and most accurate) lighting kit for a full size HIC?

Panels all screwed in to place

I would be very interested. Is it possible to add more rows of cutouts?

What Fallen said .. I'm very interested in this Zenix .. but since they're already on the cutter, might as well detail it a little more?

I could customize the top. I tried to match the main style though and keep it proportionate.

Who else is interested in this kit?

I'm in if you can still ship to Canada, that is!

Another question, what's the size of this? Height for me is essential as my HIC is about 5 inches off the floor.

assembled it's 34"x34"x4.5" tall

what details should I add? I do think it looks great how it is but of course I can made mods. I like the proportions of the width of the lit areas.

I can ship to canada, europe, usa and australia.

Of course it's your project, but here's what I would see:

- All around the vertical walls, I would add slots
- On top, I would repeat the pattern that we see on top of the walls like in the picture attached.

I don't see much reason to have such a big black area on top .. at least, pushing another slot on the outter edge would help prevent the big black area on top.

And yes, I like the proportions of your slots too.

Crude sketch of what I meant in terms of adding slot distribution to add more light and simulate those top wall bars too.

Hmm they work for me at home and show their location as on therpf site...not sure why they'd be blocked at the office.

I wonder if I can do a curved face to get the arc right
