Ghostbusters (animated)

This is almost as bad as the animated Transformers movie they mention being written at the end. If they made it G1 and had the actors it'd be different. Actually that would help with a GB cartoon but with the guy who voiced Peter dead it'd not really be as good. I can just imagine it being as cringeworthy as GB extreme was in the 90s.

if they REALLY based it on the animated show........they'd need to bring back arsenio hall as winston (assuming he can still act...I think Buster Jones died a few years back). and they need to get someone really good to do peter. Something REALLY annoying about Dave Couliers voice as Venkman. it seemed likehe was so focused on the impression, that he forgot to act and bring emotion to it. something lorenzo music, even though a one trick voice, did really really well.

Frank Welker, and Maurice Lamarche, of course, are still around and very active and both keep in practice with their respective voices, so they'd sound just the same. The original Janaine would need to be brought back as well.

I still say the syndicated version of RGB was one of the best movie to toon adaptions ever done, and was even scarier in some places than the original as a kid watching it. hole in the Wall Gang comes to mind with the guys face melting in the begining. that's still tough to watch ;o).

Once it moved to ABC, it became almost unwatachble. The Music got more outlandish and annoying. Dave Coulier previously mentioned, but they also made Peter way to nice and neutered his personality. and then there was what they did to janine....EG Daily is a good voice actress, but she's no janine.

personally, at this point, I don't trust sony to do ANYTHING right. the franchise might be b etter off if disney bought it.

Wouldn't mind if they did something like this.

Hey, it's Rowan! :lol

I would be all for an animated adaptation of HELLBENT with Aykroyd, Hudson, LaMarche as Egon, and Coulier voicing Venkman's few lines. Traditional cel animation based on the Dapper Dan comic designs would be incredible.

It could actually be a pretty cool series of animated movies-- unproduced Ghostbusters scripts. GHOST SMASHERS with Aykroyd and James Belushi. HELLBENT, ALIVE AGAIN, and THE SEED with the above crew. Let Feig/Russo crews carry the cinematic series. Fans of the classic can have new stories with the original team, from scripts developed by the original crew. I doubt it would happen, but that's my fanboy wish of the day.
