quite frankly, with the supporters trying to drive the detractors insane with endless wrap around discussion, all the stuff that's come out of this movie, all the stuff proven true by hacks...

Am I saying it's definitevely possible this is how it happened? no.

But why is it so hard to believe they'd go the extra step? All I'm saying is, I think they would.
Not that they did or didn't, but I wouldn't put it past them at this point.

that's my thoughts on it and i'm sticking to it.

The defenders love to reduce the argument to absurd terms, usually completely ignoring that Jones, Feig and the rest carry as much if not more of the responsibility for all the mudslinging as anyone. There is more than ample evidence of them taking every opportunity to throw gasoline on the open flame rather than work to engage the fans in anything remotely approaching a respectful or reassuring tone. Not that it would've saved the movie, but it would've spared it months and months of bad press leading up to its release. And, the tried and true tactic of crying "victimhood" and playing the role of some poor, put upon, fictionally marginalized protected class in order to win the rabid SJWs on their side didn't seem to win them many fans judging by the box office. Next they'll be used as poster children in some anti-bullying campaign.

Bottom line, as the detractors had the clarity of vision to see early on, is the movie was an exercise in folly from the word go. They were absolutely right. Yet defenders, as is so popular today, love to focus on "intent", feelings and ideology, as opposed to actual, objective results, no matter how mountainous the evidence may be. Reality is dismissed and fiction is manufactured non-stop. Because it's not about reality. It doesn't matter what's inconveniently true. Nothing is ever a failure or bad idea anymore. It's just "misunderstood" or people who didn't like it are "ignorant bigots". The victim card is like a get out of jail free card for those who can't achieve or produce results. And, when those results overwhelmingly paint a picture of abject failure, the facts are ignored all the more and the victim card played even harder. Blame is ascribed to ANYONE or ANYTHING other than the actual parties responsible. It's easy. It's cowardly. It's dishonest. It's the upside down world we live in.

Of course it's driven by "negative" emotions. That's what hate is. Hate is a natural, visceral reaction to something. So, I don't think it's "irrational" in and of itself. In the case of Ghostbusters, people hate this abomination for a host of reasons, chief of which is love for the original film. So loved is the original that many hate the idea of the existence of a film that disrespects the original, insults the fans that love it, and rips it off all while claiming to be a reboot in a world where the original never happened. All of which this movie was designed to do, albeit without the wit, humor, charm or intelligence of the original. To hate that is not irrational. To defend it is.

They've created the plot of Ghostbusters II. A river of slime comprised negative vibes.

Ha! That article proves my point. It didn't fail because it's a bad movie. It failed for all these other, external reasons. It's not a failure. It's a victim of circumstances beyond its control. It's par for the course. Most of the media are part of the same group think, ideologically driven bandwagon. They use the same exact play on everything. There's no longer any honesty or integrity in 90% or more what they put out there. It's all driven by ideology rather than facts. And, it all misses the basic point of, MAKE A GOOD MOVIE! Do good work. Most of the world could give a rat's posterior what gender or race a character is anymore. Modt the time its done simply as a gimmick, anyway. When the works they're in are utter crap, that's all that should really matter. Do a better job.

Since when is "victim blaming" an absurd term? It's pretty cut and dry. No one deserves what she got. Not for mouthing off on Twitter, not for acting in a movie you didn't like. Not for the Ghostbusters reboot underperforming. No one for or against specific political beliefs. No one.

To use your words, blaming Jones for her doxxing is easy, cowardly, dishonest, and the upside world we live in. I'll also like to add "classless" in the mix.

don't mind us. we kawazy.

the curse of a free un restricted thinker ;o) that just has alot of time to trash something that deserves it ;o)

at this point, it's long ago disolved into this ;o)

case in point.....

http://www.theraffon.net/~spookcent...16/08/29/ghostbusters-2016-adult-novel-review

this line from the book..

>>>>It's interesting that we all call you Holtzmann," Patty said as they collected their cheesesteaks and headed back to headquarters. "Jillian is a nice first name."
Holtzmann smiled and shrugged. "It started in engineering school. Most of the other students were guys. Shy guys. I think they called me Holtzmann so I'd seem less like a girl." She mock-shivered. "Because you know a girl is pretty scary.">>>>

sigh. how can you not make fun of this dumpster constantly? it really is fun. folks should try it sometime.

Come DVD release though, I am going to have to start to wind down. browsing GB sites is even worse than here, with argument after endless argument. no interesting things on imdb anymore. factual or rumor. supporters doing the same old deflect and dance around routine refusing to let detractors have their fun in playground rules.

eventually enough will be enough. although it is fun to see facebook fan pages loose their minds over time ;o).

I mean, how do you defend this?

It just keeps getting worse.

you can clearly tell there WAS no script. it looks like they where given just a short description of scenes that got them moving, and where told 'just run with it, see what you can come up with to make it work'...

I've never seen such adisjoined movie, like you're watching the movie being made despite it being a finished product, as a paul fig newton movie.

what's sadder is reading all those comments at the bottom of that article..

Er...wut? The article you linked says nothing about the script at all. It is about a deleted scene.

Neil, here you go. Feigbusters has been officially labeled a Top Five Loser.

LOLOL>>

>>>Though Sony said all the right things in the controversy surrounding the release of the women-led "Ghostbusters" reboot, it seems the haters of the gender-swapping title have made their voices heard.>>>

more delusional nonsense. if people are going crazy, it's reading comments like this with folks trying to spin this mess into something positive ;o)....

There is nothing positive coming out from Feigbusters. Just a split fandom that fights amongst themselves.

They just announced the DVD and man the comments on the yahoo article are not kind at all lol. Honestly hollywood hasn't had many hits this year.

nice to see there is still some sense somewhere. it's interesting to see where comments are kind to the reboot and where they are not.
