Arnold Schwarzenegger “Douglas Quaid/Hauser” working briefcase from Total Recall. (Carolco, 1990) Heavy aluminum briefcase with unique L-bracket handles measuring 17.5 x 24 x 4.25 in. Opens on a thick tubular elbow hinge bar to reveal a retro-futuristic computer terminal. The inner lid features a vacuum formed 9.5 x 11 in. transparent screen framed by a repurposed computer monitor frame, containing a color image of Schwarzenegger as “Quaid” printed on acetate to appear as an actual computer screen image. Retaining a Network 2000 sticker at the top of the frame for the screen. The bottom of the case is inset with a 7.25 x 10.75 control panel with high tech “micrologic” touch pad and other technological embellishments. Buttons on the right of the control panel operate lighting elements in the base and illuminate the monitor screen. Non-functioning micro-cassette port loaded with cassette. Exhibiting some age and production wear. Fully functioning. In fine condition.

Resurrecting this old thread. I've had this project on my long term to-do list.
About a year ago I set an eBay notification for the component in the middle with the buttons. I figured it was a found item, and after searching "MICROLOGIC ML-7500" sure enough it was.
One popped up last week so I snagged it for about $20. Looks like I just need to remove the housing.

Has anyone ID'd the other parts? Here are a few other pics (I think I got these from the Movie Props facebook page):

The microcassette recorder under the bezel is a Realistic Micro-26 voice activated model ($150 back in 1990!):

The keypad, as shown above, was taken from a Micrologic ML-7500 LORAN C nautical navigation aid (it used the LORAN C LF radio beacons to determine a position, like the Oboe/Gee radio navigation systems developed by the RAF in WW2). It too dates from around 1990, and had a special antenna/receiver that connected to the unit:

They are basically junk now as most of the world's LORAN C radio networks have been turned off.
