This thread is BOOTY-LISCIOUS!

Now get some pics up of you in them! :D

Thanks guys.

I used the new licensed boots as a starting point for these. The leggings and the platforms are great, but they come with vinyl dragon heads that just suck.

Sorry I'm late to this thread. I've been racking may brains for the last couple of years in an attempt to make Destroyer boots to complete my outfit. I recently bought a pair of the licensed boots, but was a little disappointed. Some of the stitching was shoddy. A lot of loose threads and some of the scales near the zipper were missed with stitching. I also had trouble with the zipper. Did you have trouble with yours? Thought maybe I received a defective pair. I agree with the vinyl covering. After an hour an a half, I still couldn't get them to fit correctly. I need a boot buck/shell alternative. Any help is appreciated.

I am attempting to attach an image of my costume as it appeared a few years back. It's currently disassembled now, but am retooling for better accuracy (well as best as a home made costume can be).

After realizing the expense associated with producing the boot shells , I opted out of trying to make them myself. I had a nice sculpt over top a pair of Choppers. My intent was to use a universal mold for both boots. The bottom line is I lost interest in something that was expensive and would take forever to finalize. About a month ago I found a guy on Facebook named Luis Reyes. His is in a Vegas Kiss Tribute called "Sin City Kiss" He produces shells for a variety of boots. I bought a licensed pair and they turned out amazing (see attachments). They are a seamless single-piece that slips through the boot legging. To me, these are the best out there. There are slight variations from the original Gene Simmons designs, but I like them better. Luis makes a variety of shells that fit over a variety of boots. His Facebook marketing page for the shells is the following: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Family-Ghouls/292754524071806?ref=ts
His actual Facebook page is the following: https://www.facebook.com/LasVegasGeneSimmons
His Kiss Tribute Band Page on Facebook is: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sin-City-KISS/178904438896456

Lastly, I have included images of his work. They should arrive tomorrow. He is easy to deal with and his price is fair.

Awesome armour. I want to make one too. How did u make yours?

Sorry it's been so long for this reply. Once the site was hacked, I did not log back on until recently.

Mine was made by trial and error using a lot of found materials from hardware stores. The torso pieces were cut from some black plastic kettle planters (the look like witches cauldrons and Halloween stores now take advantage of that and charge $20-25 a piece for them. At the time I started mine, they were about $5.00 a piece, so I bought extras for screw-ups. I created, then recreated patterns. Rounded the shapes (arm pieces) then riveted them into place. I used multi-Bondo fillers and adhesives/glues to hold parts in place while I added the fillers. This required a lot of reinforcement. Then I discovered that the plastic I used for my templates were polyethylene. Which ,at that time, were not paint-able.

Building on my own was the biggest headache. Mine is a one-of f that I still have to figure out how to fill and paint correctly.
