Am I nuts... Did I miss the other thread for this?!

well if this is the first mention, really cool episode. A little more of Adam Savage's BladeRunner gun, and you get to watch a Quickie build of Rey's staff from TFA.

weird no mention of the maker of the kit....:unsure

You also get another look at Adams collection.

They really blew through that tutorial. No mention at all whether the parts were 3-D printed or resin cast, what kind of glue to use, or what kind of pole to mount the pieces on. I'm sure it was edited for time, but informationally it was virtually worthless.

Ha I was drunk when I wrote this thread... so yeah, of course they wouldn't state the kit builder.

Geeking Out is a terrible show BTW... not sure why I watch.

When I watched this I didn't get the impression that it was intended to be presented as an informational how-to type vid. Its not Norm and New Yankee Workshop.

I get that, but most shows that document a build either do it completely OR say "for more information go to..." But they did neither. I know in the age of information and the internet, all that is a mere search away, but what happened to the bare minimum?

Where exactly would they point people to, to go for more info? The RPF? That would be tantamount to supporting copyright infringement. Not gonna happen on a network tv show. I would say they absolutely presented the segment in the manner it should be presented on that platform. As 2 guys making something cool, on their own, in a workshop\garage. If anything about it seemed vague and ambiguous, my guess would be that it was by design.

I saw that the other night. Has Adam ever done a painting/weathering tutorial? From what I could tell he was painting the staff some metal color, then black, then wiping the black off while wet.

:lol I watched This Old House all the time with my dad growing up. Norm was awesome.
