I loved Gantz uniquely, only thing in any medium I've ever seen where the protagonist dies, is resurrected, dies again for a while, is brought back, and then another copy is brought back too! So awesome.
The X guns are whatever, the pistol looks cool but the rifle and Y gun are weak... but when they pull out those H guns in Osaka its just awesome as hell, and pretty telling that Kei would rather lug one around in a backpack than just throw an X gun in his pocket during Katastrophe.
So, I'm making one that is as devastating. basically modifying a super soaker that looks pretty similar and filling it with ethylene glycol and rigging an ingnitor, turning it into a flamethrower. I just wanted to know if anyone here has more knowledge than me on ignition systems for these sorts of things. I'm planning on wiring a stun gun up so that there will be a spark gap a few inches away from the nozzle, but was wondering if anyone here had tried that and possibly run into problems with ignition? I can't really see any, but then again I've never used a spark gap flamethrower.
My money is on stun gun, not only is it cheaper than a quality bendable torch, but can't be disturbed by wind. It also allows much more versatility for wiring. Also, having a crackling blue spark at the end is much much more sci fi than a little flame, definitely more in keeping with the tone of the series.
.
thats the gun that I'll be using the shell of
thats the model
Planning on starting construction soon, so I'll definitely be checking out all the build tips around here. Just found out this website existed an hour ago!
Oh and by the way, I'm an engineer. No worries on the safety of this, I know what's up.
Thanks everyone!
