Game of Thrones

I did. I have a feeling that the show is painting love as the true enemy that must be purged since everything people seem to love ends up for the worst.

I don't think anyone would have objected if Snow had stuck her...with his sword. STFU Already. I'm torn as to who I hate more right now, Joffrey, or Theon, AKA Mr. I wanna be badder than Sister and Impress Daddy.

For me it's Theon. Joffrey was always a d-bag who had the good graces of being slapped around and trumped by a Dire Wold. Theon had a lot of good moments when he supported and encouraged Rob during the rallying of the banners. He BENT HIS KNEE WILLINGLY to Rob when they dubbed him the King of the North. For him to switch to a side that wants to do nothing more than mock and disgrace him was just stupid. At least Joffrey gave Ned a clean death. What Theon did to Roderick was sadistic. Now he's slaughtered two innocent children and burned their bodies just to save face.

:angry

He bent his knee willingly.

But Joffrey is clearly insane, perhaps due to his inbred genetic makeup whereas Theon who seemed to be an agreeable person at one point, is making conscious choices to betray or seek revenge every step of the way.

Btw, is bran dead?

Yeah, I'd have to say Theon. Joffery is acting exactly as expected and has always been that way, Theon on the other hand became a cowardly turncoat picking on people while they are down

I don't think so. I get the feeling the bodies where not Bran and his brother, but rather the kids of that farmer who Theon is trying to pass off as them. I think that's why they made Maestor Luwin leave

That was my feeling too... I hope we're right...

Personally loving the tv series so far, still need to see s2e6, and really thinking about picking up these books again at the local library, it's been too long since i've read them ^^

Yeah, there's at least some internal conflict with Theon, and you can understand the unenviable position he's been put in by his family. It doesn't justify any of the terrible things he does, but you can at least understand what's going on in his head and appreciate the tragedy of it.

Joffrey, on the other hand, is thoroughly inhuman. There's no conflict there, nothing with which to sympathize - he's a pampered, witless, utterly defective psychopath.

You are. In the book, Bran and Rickon both survive and go their separate ways. This is where leaving out the Reed kids is going to be tough. Bran goes off with Osha while Bran goes with Hodor, Jojen and Meera to look for the three-eyed raven north of the wall.

IMO Theon is definitely a tragic character. I kinda wish Joffrey would show a little humanity to make him more interesting. Tywin, for example, is really growing on me - he can be as ruthless as anyone in Westeros (as I hope we'll get to see later) but he's not particularly cruel about it.

I liked Jamie's scenes, first with his cousin, then with Catelyn. I look forward to what's in store for him.

As for Firesprite's spoiler,
They'll probably keep the current grouping, with Asha and Rickon sticking with Bran and Hodor as they go North.

The Tywin and Arya scenes are really interesting and fun to watch, but the show has deviated so much from what Tywin is like in the books. Book Tywin would never spend time with a servant like this. As weird as it is to see the character behave this way, the acting between the two is just so fascinating to watch. I also like that they've actually given Dany a real story. In book 2 there wasnt a whole lot going on with her until the end. They've really spiced up her story a lot and its fun not knowing whats going to happen next.

After a "WTF?!?!" moment and thinking about it, I think they probably switched with the orphans. I'm not sure if Theon is tricking them or whether they really think they killed the Stark kids.

As for who's more evil, I'm going with Theon. Joffrey is just the way he is. Theon made the choice to become that way.

I've never liked Joffrey OR Theon. I've always thought Theon was just another follower who fancied himself an alpha wolf. Given the first chance, that's what he tried to be and look where that's gotten him. Even knowing a few spoilers for the fate befalls him, I don't think it's sufficient for the betrayals he's perpetrated.

I caught that, too. There should be 3. Unless the last episode is actually a 2 hour episode.

According to the HBO website there are three more episodes: The Prince of Winterfell, Blackwater, and Valar Morghulis.

I'm really getting annoyed at the 3 minute bursts of character before a scene change. :angry

I'm also enjoying the Arya/Tywin interaction. He clearly knows she's faking her background but luckily for Arya doesn't suspect who she really is. This will probably end up being blamed on Cersei or Tyrion for not admitting they only had one Stark daughter captive.

I love watching Charles Dance. Been a fan of his since The Golden Child. :)
