Gambit shin armour???

Check out CelticRuins's thread on her Rogue and Gambit. If you're doing the 90s cartoon version, that's a pretty spot-on build - great shots of the finished work in the thread.

NN o going modern making cowl outta latex chest armour too found these for shin guards where with knee high boots what ya think??? real metal!!! 36.00 bucks!!!!

they are a good base, you'll have to do a lot of work with them if u are going to do the sharper shin style. Do you have a reference image for gambit? There are quite a few versions of those shin guards in recent generations.

I made a pair out of foam last yr, they dont hold up too well

The cowl will take time, im not going with a pink chest plate magenta a little more purple metallic, leather motorcycle pants knee high boots im huyying down, the metal shin guardsi found leather trench from ebay i will motify, and a real chrome bo staff i found on ebay too!!! Niiiice! Last cool color contacts that are black with read pupils only 40.00. I will send photos as i go along.

 where did u find the cheap contacts?? I was going to get them but they were like 300 for the full eye coverage..
So not going with an extendable staff? I would highly recommend it, its fun:D

Sounds like you have it all sorted:) Put up a shopping list of all the stuff you get. I'd be nice to see how much this is going to cost.

Are you going to get purple LEDs in the gloves? I made up glowing gloves if you want any advice.

The scarf option is always handy too

Also the "scarf" is from the Gambit/Bishop series, when he jumped through time with Bishop.

I always wondered where that style came from, thanks:).. Thats the costume i went with last year.

Getting the lines to come out to the cheeks is a bit of a headache..depending on what material you're going to make it from

A good tip for the headpiece:

Make it from thick spandex, and double it up, so you can spirit gum it to your face, without the spirit gum leaking through. I also put a thin sheet of foam, to stiffen it.

I like more of the silver boots, the blue i think is the older comic book version right???? Is there do you have a photo of extendable staff and your led gloves???

The blue is from the cartoon/Chris Clairmont-Jim Lee versions...they went silver right before his costume started to really chanse.

Agreed!..I used a spandex leg also doubled up with a thin sheet of acetate on each side. I didnt even need glue to keep it in shape. Great minds think alike:p

I'll go up to the attic, dig it all out and take some pics.

Ok i pulled it all down from the attic, its a bit beaten and worn from last halloween.

Image of the staff, sorry about the picture quality of these, i didnt have much time. The staff goes from 1ft 10inches to 4ft 5inches. And it all i had to do was flick my wrist to extend it....towards ppls faces of course:p

Pardon the lack of gambit lenght hair :)..this is what it was likw without glue. It was a lot tighter.

The LED set-up was Really basic! but hidden. Just 2 3V lithium batteries glued onto the inside of the gloves and holes for the LED between the fingers. I just had to press on the battery with my thumb to light them up. I put a clear coating on the cards to reflect the light
