Gaiking 2012

Does look good so far. I had to laugh when it came up through the street, all i could think of was the Big O anime where the it always tears up the roads getting ready to fight.

Has anyone heard anymore about this movie? I'm hopeful that it'll get made, but I'm not seeing much traction it.

I saw that thread, but chose to post in this one since the video link in the other thread is broken so I hereby nullify your Jedifyfe, lol.

I hope to gawd they bring ALL the giant robot shows around to the new tech that's available now Gaiking,Getter Robo,Mazinger hell wanna talk about death and drama? Go Nagai who created most of them (and stuff like Cutie Honey and Devil Man) has a rep for "kill'em all" when it comes to his characters.....

Go watch Getter Robo Armageddon an anime done in the late 90's it's :confused

Hmmm, I remember seeing this video a year or two ago, and then reading that this was revealed to be just a fan made trailer. There isn't any actual full-length film in the works.

I pulled this info off of IMD, but it's prettty sparse. I would think this means that it's was/is in some state of production, but I suppose that doesn't mean the trailer has anything to do with the movie either, right?

I just watched Blue Gender again, I think that could do great as a live action film

Aww man, I really need to watch that again. I saw it all the way through about 8 years ago, when Adult Swim aired an episode every night. Really cool anime.

And yeah, I bet that could be awesome. (As long as Hollywood didn't give it the Dragonball treatment...)

Wrong - "fan made" projects don't hire major Hollywood FX houses to design/build sets and shoot footage for them.

My understanding at the time was that it was a "proof of concept," created to (probably) attempt to generate/secure financing for a possible feature length film. Film projects stall, get delayed, wind up getting shelved, or are outright sh!tcanned all the time.
