Hello,

I've finally got around to creating my new website, to showcase my replicas and prop collection

Please check it out and let me know what you think, I've got a few new projects on there, like my new Cave Troll hammer and Gears of War Locust Drone Knife!!

Still a few things to do, like update a few of the pages, the locust knife in particular, however it's pretty much done.

Just one thing though is it just me or do the thumbnails take ages to load ?

That's because they're not thumbnails, they're full sized (3200 x 2500) images! You really need to replace those with actual thumbnails. It's good practice always to avoid making the browser resize your images. Firstly it forces visitors to download large images, eating up bandwidth for you both, secondly the quality will always be poorer than if you resize it yourself and display it with the correct dimensions. Otherwise, nice looking site!

The pictures are all sorted now, so it should load a hellava lot faster.

Well i hope you enjoy looking round the site, and viewing my projects. My Cave troll hammer is now complete, so please check it out on the finished project section.
The locust drone knife finished pictures will be up by the end of the week.

Try using Lightview ( http://www.nickstakenburg.com/projects/lightview/) or Lightbox2 ( http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/ ) to use for your image viewer.

It's so much nicer than the pop up window.

Simple Viewer ( http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ ) is also a nice image viewer but a bit different from the other 2.

Having your navigation on the bottom will limit what you can display on the site. All black wouldn't be my first choice.

Maybe flank the sides of the site with a background texture so it will pop the main site area.

Maybe make your build pages so you scroll with the images inline rather than in a pop up. That way you don't have to click any images.
