G.I. Joe Retaliation Roadblock's pistol grip props question

tl;dr - Do separate knife/gun parts actually plug into Roadblock's pistol grip knuckler props? Or are they separate props on their own, intended to be elaborate brass knuckles?

-----------------

Hey everyone, I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out based on only a few available photos. Maybe I'm not searching the right terms, but as far as my research has gone, it seems there's not much material on the matter that fully explains. At least not yet.

Googling revealed this high-res poster photo stored here on the RPF, so I'll refer to it due to it's high resolution. Specifically, I'm referring to the little pistol grips on his belt. Initially I thought they were just some elaborate brass knuckle type weapons, but subsequent findings suggest that they may be multi-use grips.

I understand that toys are not the best sources for references, but as far as we know, they may have been given info in order to push the toys to production, but said info may have never surfaced in the movie for one reason or another. I call your attention to this batch of accessories packed in with one of the Retaliation Roadblock figures:

The pistol grips are there, at least in action figure spirit, and all those little bits and pieces plug into it. One option reveals his "nailgun"-style pistol, and two other options reveal various knife options.

To back up the multi-use aspect, specifically the knife variant, another kids toy product surfaced in the form of this:

While the topography of the grip portion is way off, the details match in location to the same details seen on the grips in the poster photo. This particular item brings to mind the knife blade in Roadblock's chest sheath, and falls in line with the blade options on the action figure, but the slot on the top of the grips seems to be too long to securely hold the thinner blade. Plus, screen captures of his "nailgun" pistol in the movie clearly show a prop in-and-of-itself, though the screen captures may just end up showing a blank-firing pistol for on-set logistical purposes.

So, is there info out there that provides extra info on Roadblock's pistol grips that I'm not seeing? Does anyone know if they are indeed multi-use grips or if they are stand-alone props? I'm really interesting in making this particular item, but if I should take into account possible accessories, I'd love to find as much info as you guys can assist me with!

as far as the pistol component, all it is is a glock frame with dusters on the end, and the slide has an attachment on it to hold a spare magazine in front of the trigger.

the frame duster is present and clear in a scene where they overview thier available weapons and remark its enough to fight a battle, but not a war.

he never uses the knife attachment, but i assume it was cut from the film seeing as how there were too many little things going on throughout that it got left on the cutting room floor. at least the homing rounds didnt lol.

EDIT:

found this image on imfdb.org and it shows a promo shot of him.

note his knives are in the sheaths but have the tang and no handle. also notice the duster shaped holsters on his belt for the glock frames to sit.

Sweet info, guys. I think I'm just going to go ahead and jump into it. I think it's safe to assume that at least the longer blade (sheathed on his chest) can plug into the grips, so I'll account for at least that one function. Otherwise I'm just considering them some kind of knuckler weapon, which totally fits the character anyways. Thanks everyone!
