So after the 3 piece comlink I made thanks to "The Shlitzie" I got my mind working and decided to build a "Functional" TK commlink... at first I looked for some walkie talkies that were small enough to gut and then put them on the comlink but failed... Than it hit me.
I had a bluetooth headset that I rarely use with my phone, so I opened it and removed the earpiece and replaced it with the smallest speaker i had... and it works....
I will post a video soon but you get the idea, you make a call using your phone and talk and listen through the Commlink. So you can talke to anyone that has a phone...
There are things that need to be improved.
1. Volume of the speaker is not great you have to be very close to the device because it does not have enough power. I have ordered more speakers of higher impedance to see if it improves. And also I have redesigned the Hovi mic tip to funnel the sound like a horn.
2. I need to place a push button for turning on and answering calls directly from the Commlink. This should be easy.
3 need to make a hole on the bottom for the mic to listen better.
4. To recharge the device i will probably just unscrew the bottom cap retrieve the BT device and once charged put it back together... so I dont make any more modifications to the Commlink.
I have also ordered the new hovi mic tip for the speakers and should be recieveing averything around the 2nd of december.
So what are your thoughts? I think I'm going to have so much fun answering calls while trooping XD
