Getting rid of my 25 year old set of Stormtrooper armor (gloves, boots, and under suit in SEPARATE posts).
As a quick history lesson, Marco's trooper armor was the first available to fans, but this suit was originally designed by Canada's own Gerado Follano. It was sold under different names, all basically the same. Armor FX aka Galaxy Trading aka "White Sunblock" (Wookiee Cantina) was the first WIDE-spread armor available to fans and was the de facto 501st trooping armor. Until better, more screen accurate suits became available. The helmets were notoriously oversized, and gave rise to the "bobblehead" Stormtrooper meme. Here's a bunch of the bobblehead suits with William Shatner in 2005:
This armor is slightly larger than screen used, and is relatively easy to mod.
This has only ever been on display indoors; has NEVER been "trooped" in. There is minimal wear (see photos)
I no longer have the helmet; there is NO helmet included (although my pristine Master Replicas LE is up on eBay if anyone wants to take a look)
There is some SLIGHT yellowing on one of the legs.
The 25 year old Velcro needs to be replaced; you would need to supply your own.
The elastic straps, while still functional, are loose and need to be shortened or replaced.
The detonator needs an attachment mechanism (you could use Velcro, or screw into the belt, or use clips... I just never applied anything).
Still dusty from sitting in a corner all these years... it could use a Magic Eraser and a good wipe.
This was the first "good" set of armor widely available. But it is idealized and not screen accurate to the ANH/TESB suits.
Who would this be good for? WELL... not if you're going for 501 approval, because there are near screen accurate suits available. But if you're looking to make a Sandtrooper, where you are going to dirty it up anyway, or want a beater set for trooping or Halloween without worrying about damaging your $1000 display suit, or you just want to throw this on a mannequin in your man cave, toss on a Black Series helmet, then have at it!
I'm asking $275 shipped in the US (sorry, shipping is high nowadays). I want this to have a good home.
