FRP panels n armor

I'm revamping my armor n am planning to use FRP panels w a heat gun to make the scallop shoulder bells, gauntlets, torso n shins similar to the plastic buckets I've seen used. Anyone have any luck w this or have any tips or pointers? I think it should work out pretty well for what I want to do or rather have planned w a few templates n some good tin snips.
