Good lord. I've never seen that before. I thought I was a Star Wars fan. I'm not worthy.

I wish like hell, they'd come up with a version of the films with all the crap they cut out. Especially the stuff in the Star Wars Storybooks.

I'm curious because of the size, what would this have been used for shooting?
It's seems a little small to go against walkers and overkill for wampas.

I think it was mounted to a tracked vehicle.

It looks like a flame thrower and a set of lasers. Maybe to 'cut' the ice walls in the Hoth base?

I like your idea they used it to cut the walls in the ice. Otherwise it's hideous. A nice cut from the film.

I think I read somewhere that it was the defensive turrets that was to be seen manned at the Imperial assault, but was cut out or never shot. There was apparently more of a fight before we see the troopers and Vader enter the base for the first time.
