Hey guys ive got a comission to make a freddy statue and I started sculpting the head sculpt for it yesterday . I've done some work on the hands and glove also and will post some pics of that in a couple of days but i just wanna get some feedback on it so far.I threw on a new nightmare sweater a friend had on him to get an idea of how it will look but im gonna buy a new more traditional one soon. Its still really rough and im just blocking out the forms so its very much a work in progress and all subject to change. Any comments or critique would be more than welcome as im trying to get a good likeness. Ive already been advised to take the nose back a bit as its a bit fat at the minute and i've started to do that. Hope you like

Thanks in advance

Johnny

P.s Sorry bout the picture quality. Its off my mobile phone. Will have some better ones tomorrow.

Im not really familiar with the freddy movies, but this looks great so far.

As you've already said, the nose is a little large.

Which of the freddy films are you replicating??

Cheers, i've taken the nose down a lot and it looks far better now. At the minute its still very rough but im going for the look of the 4th film the Dream Master which i think is probably the best looking freddy although the 2nd one looks amazing too.

Hey guys another quick update. work has been a bit slow cos were snowed in here over in ireland. I still got a good bit of work to do on the head but im happy with how its turning out. Ive taken a couple of pics of the glove hand sculpt. Im sculpting both hands as was requested so you can see burns through the damage on the glove. Ill have some more soon.

Thanks

Even for how "rough" the first pic was - it was INSTANTLY recognizable as Freddy. Great work so far.

Cheers 4StarCustoms im really happy with how its going. I'm glad you recognise it as freddy. means im doing an okay job. Im nearly done with the sculpt now. About another day or so for the fine details and ill be on to molding. Heres an updated pic of the head and hand sculpts. The left hand is already molded and cast in resin.
Really cant wait to have this completed and standing there full size. Will be starting the glove very soon. I made one all ready in its pieces as a prototype but making another one now that i have a feel for it. Thanks again

Johnny

Well here are the pics of my mold for freddy. . sorry if they are a bit dark but you get the idea. Okay anyway for anyone interested heres the rundown of how i made the mold of the head:

Okay its a 1 part thixotropic silicone mold with a fiberglass mother mold. I started off by placing the sculpt on a large enough sheet of scrap board. I then mixed a batch of silicone with the catalyst and then added about .5 to 1 % thixotropic additive to stop the silicone running off a vertical surface. I only added a little amount of the additive for what is essentially the beauty coat.

When this coat began to get tacky which was after about an hour and a half as i have the fast additive i added a second thicker coat of silicone with a color in it. For this coat i used about 2.5 % additive to the mix. I added the colour so i knew that i had evenly spread all the silicone for the second coat and that i hadnt missed anywhere. I repeated this process for one last coat and then the silicone stage was finished.

After this i built up a clay dividing and fiberglassed the first half of the mold. Unfortunately i dont have any pics of the fiberglass in progress but when the first half was molded i using vaseline as a release agent and fiberglassed the second half. When this was done i drilled some holes for bolts and wing nuts and removed the plastaline head from the silicone mold. I did this but cutting a t shape in the back of the head leaving me with a more or less closed seam and hopefully very little work after casting.

Bear in mind its my first attempt at making one so what you guys think. Im and gonna start on the blades now and get a good glove somewhere. More soon

Hey guys got my resin today and was busy gettin my freddy casted along with one of my 1:1 raptor heads for a guy on the hunters lair. so here he is.still needs a trim but came out well. Gonna paint him up now in a day or so and insert the glass eyes and then make another mold for a siliccone mask. If anyone is interested in one by the way just let me know and ill make you up a copy. Ill also be making copies of my animatronic hand when its finished for displaying gloves if anyone is interested in that. As for my own glove im waiting on rivots from ebay and i need to get or make some blades.Ive also weathered, dyed and cut the stanley glove and started workm on the body frame. More to come soon.

Dude, you should use that mold to make latex masks! even the raw pulls would be worth alot!

Looks great man!

Thanks little fett. Im gonna be selling latex and silicone masks.I spent all day today cutting out my blades from a sheet of steel grinding them and sanding them up to 2000 grit at which point they are like mirrors. Ill have some pics of them tomorrow a well hopefully soldered onto my finger pieces. But for now you'l have to make do with a ouple of pics of my head primed and ready for paint and eyes with his fedora. Im real excited to see him with some paint and im hoping to paint him and the left hand before the week is out. Thanks again JohnnyUploaded with ImageShack.us

Hey guys Im painting Fred tomorrow and putting in the eyes so ill have some painted pics of him soon. But for today i got my blades bevelled (which was very tricky by hand) and soldered. Just gotta age the armature now and rivot it together. I've started the animatronics but not much to show yet as i need the glove finished first to make sure everything runs smoothly.Should be interesting.
