I was working inside a Cal-Trans lab ( California Transportation ) when I spied these insturments.

I asked the lab tech when these insturments were made and he said
"the 70's"....The lab itself was built in the 50's.

The D rings are the same size as the Tandy rings but rounder than the tandy's.

They are held on with rivets, and I didn't ask if I could pry one off the case. lol

I believe these must have come from whoever the main manufacturer of D rings was in that era and most likely the same as used on the ANH.

Opinions????....

I'd be really tempted to have one of those away!
They do look spot on.
Can you get a pair of calipers on them to measure the OD of the D?

See if the case manufacturer is still in business and sell repair or replacement parts?
Ask at work if they have any old cases around they will sell?
Looks like it is a good solid case and the D-Rings are a nice bonus!

The D-ring on my ANH Luke is from a Graflex speed graphic carrying case box circa 1945. It has that rounder look that newer ones lack!

Those D-rings on those lab boxes are way too big to be the actual D-ring on the Original Luke ANH lightsaber movie prop pr any graflex 3-cell flash.
