I'm tying to make the base.

It's difficult to find tubing to make the round piece. I purchased a Tapeese Plywood cylinder with an outer diameter of 9 3/4" diameter that might be too large.

I'm thinking about going for this 8 5/8" tube at McMaster.

8-5/8" is the standard outside diameter for 8" pipe. I'd think it wouldn't be too hard to come up with a piece of that just laying around. I see them laying 8-12" lines around me all the time. I'll see if I can find out if it's the same size.
