Check out this lobby card. It's cool to see props re-used in different films.

By the way, there are blasters in the pic if you look close :D

Cool... I remember as a kid seeing the cheapy "B" Scifi movies on late at night and I do recall seeing the FP Blaster in a few of them. Most likely they were all made by the same studio so they shared props and due to the low budgets of these films they likely tried to not make anything they couldn't borrow or steal from somewhere else. :lol

Nice lobby card.

Well, they used just about everything from Forbidden Planet in various episodes of the original Twilight Zone series. The costumes, blasters, C57-D, and Robby the Robot were all used. Some in their original form and others modified. I believe in the episode "The Invader" with Agnes Moorehead, she actually destroys one of the shooting models of the C57-D with an axe. I think that situations such as this prompted Stanley Kubrick to have the sets and models from 2001 destroyed after filming.

No she destroyed a replica of it built for the show.

The Prop Men of that series had a heart.

Looks like Zsa Zsa did'nt need no stinkin Blaster. ;)

I have said it several times that QOOS is the best movie for"stupid movie Saturday". I have a copy and it is one of my most prized movies. Its bad...but a good bad.

I recommend you all see it with friends...and a bit of alchohol. You don't have to have booze since its so good but definately see it with friends.

There was also a 3 Stooges movie where the alien used a FP blaster. I think it was called "The 3 Stooges in Orbit" or something like that.

Correct Sir... The Twilight Zone Companion has a few blurbs about not wreaking the real model and some very high praise for Agnes Moorehead. It's worth a read if you can find it..

The Forbidden Planet Blaster and rifle were also used in separate episodes of THE MAN FROM UNCLE.
In the first pic, the front section of the blaster was used as a mind controller and in the second pic, the rifle (Mounted upside down) was a roof laser used to defend against air attacks against UNCLE HQ.
Sections of the Krell panels and even Robby's head were used in other episodes.

Oh....and that IS the FP holster in the first pic as well.

Both "The Twilight Zone", and "The From U.N.C.L.E." were filmed at MGM studios, and TLZ used practically every prop, costume, and set piece left over from FP. Standard proceduer for movie studios.

TMFU used the device from FP that had the large clear dish that was in the background during the outside Klystron Frequency Modulator scene. In "The Brain Killer Affair" it was mounted on the wall as part of the brain killing machine. And in "The Cherry Blossom Affair" it was used a a device to make volcanoes erupt. For a background prop it was pretty elaborate, as it had functioning lights, those white tubes look to be neon lights.

One of the probe arms from the Krell Plastic Educator was used as a microphone in the communications room at U.N.C.L.E. HQ. One episode of "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." even used the C-57-D miniature, although I believe that most of the effects were reused from TLZ. The episode was "The Flying Saucer Affair".

And Captain Pike was wearing one of Morbius' jackets in "The Cage" sequence when he is the owner of the place with the Orion Slave girls...

I just saw the TZ episode with Claude Akins where he and another fellow land on a planet and there are really tiny people the other fellow gets to worship him. They used FP blasters and then, when the "BIG" people arrive, they are wearing FP uniforms! Very fun.

Speaking of props, which is the best FP blaster, does everyone reckon?

Yipes! Just realized how late I was to this topic!!

Cool.

And let's not forget the multiple uses of C57D in Serenity, it's everywhere.

Fairly certain at least one of the dresses in that poster was used in FP also.
