Here's a couple of projects I have been playing around with in the last few weeks. First up, since no one really makes these I have the Sinestro corps ring

Just pulled from the mold and haven't cut the sprues yet

I don't know If they are good enough to sell. You can't see it in the pictures but my rings almost always come out a little bubbly. I so far haven't made a resin ring without tiny little bubbles along the back of the band. And I really wouldn't want to sell something like that...

You'd have alot of people interesting in buying one if you could figure out the bubbling problem. But even with the bubbles, it's still really cool...nice work!!! :love

I thought of something, I never powder my molds. Would that make any difference in the overall cast with something this small?

Powerdering the molds will help the resin flow and warming the molds will also help. Bubbles are a different story.

If the rubber wasn't deaired properly, you'll always get bubbles, no matter what.

Casting under pressure can sometimes help this problem, unless the mold has bubbles and then it actually accentuates it.

The mold does have a couple bubbles, but the rings pulled have them all over the back. I'm using Castin' Craft resin, I was wondering if it was just too low quality or if I just skipped an important step in casting.

Well I have not had any new breakthroughs yet, so no real updates. I really want to take care of the bubbling problem but I still have not figured out what I might be doing wrong.

Try a different resin, I have never had any luck with Castin' craft resin.
Everything I ever used it for had bubbles.

Excellent work, man! Your sculpts keep getting better! :cool:thumbsup

So, when you gonna hook a brother up with the light-up ring, eh? ;)

One thing you could try. After you pour the resin, set it on top of the dryer while doing your laundry. The warmth and the vibration will 'shake out' the majority of the bubbles.
