Can anyone tell what this font is?

one thing ive always told people looking for a "font" when it comes to a commercial product is normally its not a font but a piece of artwork. Most likely if someone hast created a font to match the artwork, youll have to recreate it yourself...

sorry thought it was a font that was available didn't seem to look too complicated.

It is very close to Cooper Black but not exact. The single "Serif" on the uppercase B for example. As robstyle said, it is almost certainly a one off piece. The new Baby Ruth logo, in fact, does not even look like that.

True, but fans have been producing "Brandname" fonts based on the lettering of their favorite products for years. It would not surprise me if there was a free font available called something like "Babe Roth" which was a match.

I'm just too lazy to do the footwork. :)

To create a font is a l o t of work. I did this a few times with some dingbat fonts you can find here: http://www.dafont.com/dietrich-kerner.d1242.

Every font has got his own "rules" you have to follow and do not underestimate the time you have to spend.

Good luck

Although this thread is quite old...

@Pitbull
You really needed a font - not just a clean logo?

I stumbled upon this thread while I was searching for infos regarding the Baby Ruth bar from Goonies. But I couldn´t find anything useable.
A vintage Baby Ruth bar prop would be great for the display cabinet... :love

Hello all. I'm a bit of a lurker here, but I happened to have some time over lunch, so decided to trace the Baby Ruth logo in Illustrator.

Here's what it looks like (compared to the original):

If anyone can tell me how to share the Illustrator file, you're more than welcome to it.

Cheers,
Stu

Thanks!
Maybe it´s a good idea to put a EPS-File in the ZIP-File as well?
I´m here at work and have Adobe CS3 and the Illustrator file won´t open.
EPS should be more universal.

Good point. I forgot I'd recently upgraded to CS5, and know what a pain that is when you receive a file done in a more recent version.

I've saved it again as legacy CS in ai, eps and pdf formats. Hope you can work with one of those. If not, let me know.

Works! Thanks again. :)
Now I have to find more info on how a old Baby Ruth bar looked like back in the days... before even thinking on how to print the motif out! :lol

You're welcome. Actually, I found a couple of good links today:

All sizes | Curtiss - Baby Ruth - bar coded - candy bar wrapper - 1970's | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

All sizes | Curtiss - Baby Ruth candy bar wrapper - no price - 1970's | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

But neither quite match up with the movie one.

This one actually seems to be closer, but it's from the 40s or something. I'm sure that can't be right.

Very, very nice! I didn´t think about Flickr.
Anyhow that is something one can work with if nothing better can be found.
I´ll probably take a look at the Blu-ray to maybe get some more hints how it looked like.
