Foam T-Rex robot build.

I am a huge fan of the walking with dinosaurs costumes, and in know way could I ever replica those, but I am pretty good with foam so I have been drawing up some robot T-rex designs. While browsing the internet one day I came across a really great steampunk style metal T-Rex made by a guy called Andrew Chase. After looking at his art for a while I just fell in love with the look. Not wanting to rip off his work, I emailed Andrew asking if I may rely heavily on his T-Rex design to make a costume out of foam, I also sent him a link to my builds to show him the type of work I do. I received an email from Andrew saying that I could, he thank also thanked me for asking and them said if I had any questions I could just ask. So here is what I have so far.
Currently I am working on the templates in card. They still need a little work but are almost ready to be cut into sections so I can them make it out of foam.

Can't wait to see this! So much of the "Walking" costumes are about making muscles that move realistically. It will be cool to see something done with similar guts, but a completely different exterior!

I am very curious - could you please post a link to the Andrew Chase design you are working off of?

I cut the cardboard head up in to pieces ready to use as templates for the foam. Then got to work building the head, I use tape to hold the pieces together while the glue is drying, that way I can move on to other sections.

I am working on the eyes right now, I will post pictures later. I was getting a little annoyed with the head, it just didn't look right, so I took a picture of the head and painted it using a paint program and now I like the look. I guess seeing a green and dark grey coloured foam head was the problem, once I seal and paint the head it will look good.
