Wanted to share a fun project I just got into 'beta' release -- a flying radio controlled Empire Strikes Back Probe Droid (probot) built on a quadcopter frame. Not exactly studio scale, but a lot of fun nonetheless.
It's made from printed paper and fun foam, and flies beautifully for about six minutes on a charge. Since I'm flying indoors I left off the self-destruct mechanism. It's amazingly stable and easy to control. It's a lot of fun for about $35 bucks total.
Now that I have a successful proof-of-concept, I'm working on making it a little more scale-ish and easier to get the battery in and out.
