First Time Creator: Big Daddy Suit

So, I am entirely new to the concept of prop and cosplay design and creation. I have admired everyone's work on this site quite a bit and am looking to try it out. I am interested in creating a Bouncer suit from the video game BioShock.

However, I do not know what materials or processes to use or really where to begin. I would also like to know if someone could provide a rough cost estimate for a design of this magnitude. Time and effort aren't an issue for me, one of the reasons I chose to create my own.

Thanks for your time and thought!

I figure I can use this thread to update the progress as it develops.

im not an expert on the subject but I looked into building one ago and did quite abit of research on just what you are looking for. I believe from what I found the average cost was around $400, and most people actually went for the same method volpin did on his big daddy. Mimicking his build seems like a pretty good way to go in my honest opinion but ,ive never tried it so I cant say for sure. in case you've never seen his build here is a link to it Volpin Props: Big Daddy (Bioshock)

best of luck I look forward to seeing what comes of it

Definitely seems like a solid plan to use. Thanks for the tips!
