First Look at Predalien in AvP2 Movie

I think it looks badass, nut come on, you didnt really want it to take the shine away from the original pred did you?

Oh trust me, you have no idea how ******* retarded I thought that was.... believe you me.

damn right, and I thought AVP was completely unbelievable, but then again, they were all un-blooded predators... and if you read the novels...allot of those die, which just means they weren't worthy, but!!!....even a pred-alien killing enough predators on a ship to do that, including several blooded, and an elder....yeah....no ******* way that would happen, that's an insult and a slap in the face to every predator fan to ever grace this earth. and I say that knowing all too well the capabilities of the pred-alien, but it's not superman, it's just tougher, stronger, smarter than drones, and has a healing factor, but the novels state that the elders see a drone as a mediocre test for unblooded young student warriors, placing humans (oomans), higher on the list, so how it would ever come to be that 1 against countless predators would survive even an hour is absurd. a few preds caught off guard....maybe! this really enrages me, and makes me wonder how stupid the guy must be who is righting all this flawed script... but one thing I do wonder about these events... do you finally see an arbitrator in this "cleanser"?

You know what I found so difficult with AVP? I wanted SO BADLY to like that movie! I mean c'mon - how long had it been since that last Predator movie? Don't get me wrong, there were a few things I did like about the movie, but as soon as I saw those beefy linebackers and THEN I heard them roar like a lion I said to myself, "WTF have you done to my favorite movie icon?!?!?!"

So help me if AVP2 sucks as much as AVP did, I will NOT be a happy camper.

I heard someone say that they don't include AVP in the Predator history and pretty much blocked it from their memory - I like that idea! hehe! I hated the faces, armor and overall goofiness. I did like the Bios, and the Alien and Pred fight scenes.

Guaging from the stuff I have seen to date, I THINK I can safely say that the new AVP2 should be half decent. They have gone back to the leaner Pred and there will be a Predalien!!! I really hope this movie can bring some glory back to the Predator once again...

cleaner pred eh, wonder if hell have a bucket and mop, some rags for polishing wood.

sounds like theres only gonne be one pred, which is a lean in the right direction

Well maybe he doesn't kill them all, perhaps he just does enough damage to take out the ship's controls and the crashing ship is what kills everything. I dunno, we'll have to see. As for our cleaner pred, he is one bad-ass mother f'er. There will be done of that alien owning his ass in 2 minutes nonsense.

In the first Aliens Vs. Predator comic series (my favorite) it took more than one Alien to take down a Predator. For instance, the one who went after Machiko and ended up getting mobbed by a bunch of Aliens, and eventually killed. Now THAT is a "Samurai" death. Not being poked from behind while the Predator should've known better - even for a beginner. You know the other guys buddies will all be talking about him years down the road and how it took ten Aliens to kill him. Not the other fellow who wasn't paying attention.

Another thing that I liked about the comic was that they had to move up a scale, or graduate to hunting people. I think that in AVP there should've been some kind of an "enforcer" sent in along with the three nit-wits. Not to protect them, just to ensure the codes were abided by.

I've got tons of "I thinks" and "well they should haves," but what really matters to me is how the Strausse brothers interpret the script. Even the worst director out there would look at that and say "Wow. Really? Who wrote this?"

Actually, some people have said that this is exactly what Scar was. Chopper and Celtic were the students and Scar was the "supervisor", hence why he far outlasted the newbs. But then again, he didn't have any scarring yet, so that would indicate he was still a novice. Why he appeared to outclass the other preds by such a wide margin is beyond me. All I know is that in P2, the pred was surrounded by a bunch of army dudes with guns and his standard vision setting wasn't detecting them but he still managed to **** em all up. In AVP the newbs apparently can't even last 2 seconds unless they have the cannons to blow up everything from long range.

The entire thing is lame... Aliens kills preds in numbers. For 1 alien to kill 2 predators in 2 minutes is retarded. I was in absolutely disgust in the theater when Celtic went down.

Yeah that was another thing that bothered me - the oversizing of the blades and canons. They used those to make up for a crappy movie, but it justs pissed me off...

I practically grew up on scifi and horror movies, I've been watching them since before I was in kindergarten.

Predator was always my favorite, so when I heard about AVP I was excited, and as the reports came out nearing its completion and ultimate release, I was a bit concerned about how...'valid' it was going to be. Seeing that movie made me sick to my stomach, there were several points that really bothered me, one, the main female character, 'Lex' should have had a shattered rib cage and internal bleeding after Gill Predator kicked her in the gut hard enough to throw her into the air, not to mention the guy has freaking BLADES on his shoes!! Secondly, him being stabbed just like 'that' and then picked up by a 30 foot tail which magically shrinks again...I mean I know it's fiction, but that's not even believable.

What pissed me off the most was Celtic getting killed off and Scar standing there like he was about to make out with Lex, it looked like a bad 80's horror flick scene. I even heard someone yell out 'NOW GIVE HER A BIG KISS!!'. People were also saying things like 'AWWW NOOOOOO...NOOOO' when they had the 'bullet time' face huggers.

Basically, I was so ******* pissed off after the movie I ended up killing like 3 people right there in the movie theater and then shaking my fist in the air while cursing Paul 'Dick Face' Anderson.

Yeah, and that was a pretty huge ship they were travelling in during AVP. There had to have been quite a lot of Yautja on board. Even if a predalien did take out some of them, I doubt it could survive against that many hunters.

my point exactly, and Dan also made a valid point in saying it might have done just enough to crash the ship, but I dunno, blooded predators are the most ferocious beings ever, only superseded by the elders and arbitrators, and yes in the novels some elders died, but it was usually in extreme situations, like dachande unarmed against a queen, and nat'ka'pu was takin down by a larger than normal drone that "shot him"...the elder in AVP had many markings and was clearly a b.a.m.f. and as great as it'll be seeing an arbitrator on screen finally... I wanna see a group of blooded working together flawlessly in a group

i agree with besin on that Anderson screwed up big time, but you have to remenber that it was john davis, the producer, who let that cat **** director make it

I wonder why if the Alien adds any attribute of it's host why it didn't add eyes or was that too much of a evolutionary jump? Since when is seeking your prey based on heat better than sight? Hey it's sci-fi either way so what the hell. They didn't give the Alien an opposable thumb either like the Predator had but they gave him dreads? Yeah like any creature has mandibles. What good are dreads on a Alien? Need some much better writers for the Predator's character to do him justice.

Interesting discussion going on here, and looking at those designs, here's my 2 cents.
Can't really say I dig the hybrid alien/pred look so far. Both the alien and the predator are now iconic images in movieland, and for a mix between the 2, it sets up a lot more expectation than they deliver in the design so far. It feels kinda rushed to me, but then again, there's no way of telling now how it'll fit in the movie. Maybe it will make sence and seem like the right choice, but i'm not sold on it for now...
AVP wasn't the movie it could have been. It did have some stuff in it I liked (like the new armour designs) but what really bugged me was the way it was shot. I mean what's the point of creating all the suits and sets and shooting it pichblack with a steadycam? I don't think I remember one single shot from the movie that looked cinematographic. A good example in the first predator movie is the scene where the predator takes of his mask. I only had to view that once and I've never forgotten it. The way it's shot, the suspence building up to the final payoff to see what's been stalking them all this time, the pauses before he lifts it off his head, that's great storytelling. It's why predators are still around 20 (twenty!) years after the innitial release in 1987. As weird as it may sound, you kinda did care for the characters in the first movie (and to a lesser extend in the sequel), both the good and 'bad' guys. In AVP I can't even remember the cast, except for the lead actress playing Alexa Woods. The only thing I remember were the new pieces of armour, which looked great imo. I honestly hope AVP2 is gonna be more than the general '10 little indians' script where the cast is being picked of one by one by either an pred or an alien, hiding in the dark.
Think it's about time the filmmakers realised we all know what aliens and predators look like by now and theres no point in keeping them hidden in the dark for 60 minutes in the film. Worked in the first movie because it was new, now it's time to move on and come up with something new.
And the hybrid design just doesn't do that to me.
Done rambling, just had to get that of my chest.

1. AVP really wasn't so good it could be. It had very good potencial but everyone who tried to create it just screwed up.

2. As very big predators fans you're telling that predalien couldn't kill so many experienced predators and etc.

BUT predalien could do that. Predator fight vs aliens in close fights just in critical moments, mostly they are shooting with their guns. So if they were trying to fight against predalien in far fights, they could miss many shots. Lazers could not just unexpectidly kill other predators but harm their spaceship as well.
So big harm, predalien power could help to explode that spaceship. Besides predalien is stronger, faster than predators, so even many predators couldn't have any success with him. It could escape from that spares or blades. Moreover, injured predaliens blood could brake some important control desks which may couse tragedy for the hunters.

All in all not just predaliens, but aliens in general are min. as strong as hunters.. Where are a lot of alien kinds: praetorian, ravager, razer claws, carrier, giant alien, super-evoliution alien, flying aliens, chrysalis, defender, arachnoid, empress, smasher, stalker, xenoborg and even terminator-alien hybrid.
Not to mention aliens who's hosts are animals like lion or gorilla. I don't know all predator types but I can say that if directors would use min. 20 per. of all aliens I mentioned, predators would probably soon be destroyed.

I respect the hunters, they are strong and very smart race, but...

I love the assumption that just because they're so technologically advanced, that, without their weapons and armor they're nothing.

It's not a couple years alter it's right away. The predalien that pops out of scar's chest matures rapidly and kills everything in sight and crashes the ship. It survives along with some eggs that were on the ship and all **** breaks loose. Predator sociecty sends in a cleaner pred to kill the aliens and cover up the mess.

I actually kind of like that storyline. As long as the ship crashing kills most of the predators. I'll be pissed if the Predalien kills most of the predators.

Haha. I just realized that we're a bunch of undoubtedly nerdy people.
