Hello all! I'm a new member to therpf but I've be browsing all of your amazing props for a while now. Truly great stuff!

I wanted to share one of my props. My 1st ever actually, The Grail diary. I am also a member of COW, where I post as cntrctkllr, so some of you will recognize my work.

The entire diary is printed. I created my own font for it called JonesSR, which I will gladly share if anyone is interested. I also scanned in every image from the usual grail diary sources, (flowering of the middle ages, etc.) and traced them all by hand in illustrator so that I would have a perfect resolution independent master. I then Aligned the text as accurately I could using DVD screen grabs and many images supplied by the awesome people at COW. The result 8 months later was a printable version of the diary which could be printed in any resolution desired. I haven't aged the diary or started in on the inserts, as life will sometimes get in the way. However this is only my 1st draft and I will be making some formatting changes and printing it all over again in an attempt to get it as perfect as possible. I hope you guys like it and any critique is welcome.

Thanks

I think I can say that you've done some great work. If you've got electronic copies of every page then you're ready to start making some to sell, right? Haha. And I gotta ask if you included Hitler's signature.

But you're right, there's just one problem with the diary: it looks about 40 years too new! Beat that book up.

Beautiful work. Some detail photos of your text work would be great to see.

Never mind! The photos in your gallery were much better views. I love the font!

LOL! Every friend of mine who has seen it has said I should sell copies, thats not really my style though. I like the adventure and detail of it all.

The diary right now is clean as a whistle. I do plan on aging it but I will most likely do it to the second draft as there are some major changes I'd like to make and aging the diary more than once seems like a daunting task.

And yes I do have versions of the "Map of the Mountain road" with and without Hitler's signature.

Looks great to me! I'm still a bit of an Indy noob especially where the Diary is concerned but it looks great.

Is this a story version or hero?

The Layout of my diary is a little unconventional. I loved the idea of a complete story diary but also wanted the feel of the Hero Prop. To accomodate both I created the entire prop as a story diary, but in the center of it all are the 60 or so hero pages in the order described at COW.

As a result I have both versions of that Hitler page in my diary. The one with the signature lies amongst the hero pages.
