First Contact/DS9 Phaser research

Well I've got the prop building bug and having just finished my Majora's Mask build I'm already looking for the next project. So I thought it would be cool to try my hand at something a bit more precise. The hand phaser (type-2) from first contact seems like a cool smaller prop to attempt. I've found some nice reference pictures and drawings at phasers.net but I can't seem to find any measurements. I've done a quick search here but I've missed it if it's been posted. So does anyone have the dimensions of a screen used type-II?

Oops looks like my link didn't work. For anyone who has a boomerang style type 2, could you tell me how long and wide it is? Or how you figured out the dimensions.
