Hello everyone!
I am new to costume building and just started to build my first Foam armor. I've choosen the Iron Man MK IV

and this is what I got so far:
I have completet the Helmet, the Torso and the left arm (will post pics later). In fact this is actually some kind of Prototype...I have printed everything to default scale (i'm 6' to 6'1 tall) to see where I have to do
some sclae adjustments. here are the probs i ran into:

- Helmet fits but in assembled state i can't my head into it...this can be solved by cutting the back piece of the helmet

- Neckseal, collar, chest and back are fitting good

- the ABS and the Cod are not fitting...the ABS piece is ok, but the COD has to be wider...so has anyone a cool tip to modiefy this 2 pieces to make them fit? I think when i just increase the scaling this two pieces won't fit whith the rest proportional-wise...

- the left arm (shoulder, Biceps and forearm) is ok...but it would be better if the Biceps would be a touch longer...the width is good. The forearm is good too, but it could be a little bit slimmer.

I know that Pepakura designer can only sclae in all dimensions at once. So is there a technique do to this manualy? I thougt about cutting out stribes of foam an then glue the parts back together...or adding foam stribes where the parts have to wider...

best regards...Gonzo

for the cod piece you can cut down one side and add a flap so you can put it on then fasten as your thighs are generally larger then your hips. With the bicep you might have to scale the who bicep I believe you could make your own parts free hand or scale larger and pad the inside with extra foam hope this helps

thanks for your reply...i think it's the best way to do it freehand...let's see what happens ^^ results will be posted in the next days

cheers
