hello all,

did stallone really cut himself to stich himself up in first blood?

i can't seem to find proof one way or the other...

I highly doubt it.

The studios would never allow it. If he got a gash like that in real life, he would've been in a hospital, required by studios lawyers, his agent and his lawyers.

I seem to remember it being an appliance done by michael westmore, could be wrong on the artist, but i'm sure it was an appliance

He wanted to do part of the fall off the cliff ledge. During the close up of him when he hits the large branch (which is supposed to be the source of the gash in his arm) he actually bruised or cracked a rib during the stunt. So he didn't have to do much acting when it came to crying out in pain. So he truly was injured, just not his arm.

As to actually sewing up his arm, I have no clue but I highly doubt it.

No; it was a prosthetic and fake blood. If he had really cut himself the wound (or the resultant scar) would have still been visible in Rocky III (which began filming shortly after First Blood wrapped). Stallone suffered some serious injuries during filming, but an intentional and deliberate gash on his arm wasn't one of them.

Nope not real at all, it was all a Make-up Effect, he was Sewing up a prosthetic Gash and the Blood was pumped off screen and the Blood tube ended just behind his arm, like most Magic tricks it was all an Illusion.

Yup, that wrestler broke his neck.

Lundgren did some damage to him during the making of Rocky IV, too.

i had always thought he made a superficial cut with a razor to get the blood, but used an appliance to sew...it was one of those urban legends that i foolishly believed.

yes, i am that gullible. :$

That's correct. Basically, he was controlling the pump while he was doing the sewing. In fact, I think it was the audio commentary track on the DVD that stated this, that he pulled a prank with the appliance (I can't remember if it was him walking into the ER asking about if he got the stitching right or if it was somewhere else with someone else).

Well, fellas we now have a new mystery then, don't we? So who did the pumping? Was it Stallone pumping himself or someone else doing the pumping off camera? Hmm.

That was answered in the audio commentary. Stallone did the pumping himself.

In Terminator 2 did Arnold really cut the flesh off his arm to expose his metal skeleton?

If you're joking, then its a good one.

If you're not joking: Two different takes were done: one with a dull knife that could spit out fake blood, giving the appearance of it cutting into the skin. The second take, he rips off fake skin from an animatronic arm.

okay i might as well go through all of the urban legends milling around in my head..

did Mickey Rourke really have sex with lisa Bonet in Angel Heart?
or with carrie otis in Wild Orchid?
