Margaret Weis Productions, the previous publisher of the Serenity RPG, has secured the rights to publish a new RPG based on the Firefly TV series! Shiny! The previous RPG was set after the end of the TV series and before the movie; presumably, the new RPG will be set within the series chronology.

Here is the official press release...

I really dislike the Margaret Weis system and was hoping that the property would fall to a company that utilizes a more 'mainstream' system... preferrably a more "free form" style like Mutants and Masterminds. :unsure

Gurps, D20, heck even the Paladium system used for Robotech and Rifts would work. I never heard of the Margaret Weis system. I am glad to see that table top gaming is thriving. Now if only there was a thriving community around here.

they do the Marvel RPG too and the system actually works pretty well there. It is a different gaming style than say d20 though
