Firefly - Inara's Dress from "The Message"

The wife and I are making an Inara costume. We've already tracked down the necklace from "The Message" (Thanks to amazing RPF members!) We hope to be able to track down the fabric used to make the dress. Specifically the gold part. I saw on fireflyfans, someone tracked it down but it was a long outdated ebay auction. If anyone knows of an active source or anything close, we'd be much obliged.

This is one is also on my to-do list (my most favorite of all her outfits) and I'm actively looking for the fabric. If I find it, I'll post it here. The vendor that used to carry the fabric was asking a fortune b/c they knew they could get away with it...I'm hoping to find a vendor carrying more reasonable prices

I bought something like 7 yards of the stuff, but paid a boatload of money for it.
Somewhere between $175 and $200, IIRC.
If that price isn't too scary, maybe I'll dig it out and see how much I actually have.

oh hey, guys. terribly late to the party...but i'm also planning on re-creating inara's dress from "the message" soon.

anyone still have any of this gorgeous fabric left over? or have a line on getting some? i'm not cringing (horribly, anyway) at the prices suggested above.

thanks so much in advance for any help anyone can provide!

Pardon the "necro-post" but found this fabric, which may help someone. It was posted on the Firefly Fan site, by Galaris at http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=34456

"It is the Longevity Medallion gold w/gold and the back side of the fabrics is what Shawna (the costume designer) used. Interesting technique. I would order a yard, enough to make the corset, just to make sure it is the same stuff, and then order more if it is the right one."

Inara fabric from the Message . The web site is http://orientalsilk.com/tapestry.html and they will NOT allow any pinning. Important! You would use the Gold Longevity Medallion REVERSE side of the fabric.
