EyesofTeal, posted a thread over in the "Screen Used PropS" section, about owning some screen used firefly gambling tokens (as seen in "Ariel" and other episodes) I did some digging and found the real world, found item they used, but felt it was best to start a new thread, since mine are not screen used, and would fall more under the category of a "replica".
Anyway's, here is what I found.
I thought EyesofTeal's coins looked too new to be ancient Chinese "Cash coins", so I dug a little deeper. They are in fact "Feng Shui Chinese Lucky Dragon Coins". Cheep, modern, tokens, mint to be reminiscent of antique "cash coins". You can get whole lots of them on ebay right now, for next to nothing. (I picked up a set of 6 just like those above for $5. shipped, and there is a lot of 20 that are a little different, that sell for $5 as well.)
Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the ones posted by EyesofTeal are screen used, and I know they used a variety of them for the show, so some of them my be "Cash coins" but if you like the look of the ones EyesofTeal posted in the other thread, just do an ebay search for "Feng Shui Chinese Lucky Dragon Coins".
Here are mine. (I have 6 total, but I wanted these pics to look a little like EyesofTeal's, so folk could see how close these are to the screen used ones.)
Also, I know there where many other sizes, and designs of these types of coins used, in the show, so feel free to post any info you might have about the other ones used on the show.
